What car?

I have taken time to sit and ponder on what automobile I would purchase and why if given the oppourtunity... Ofcourse in the world today we have the choice of thousands of different models from many different Manufacturers which come from all over the world! The choices are endless...?!
There are many different reasons why people would chose to drive a particular car a few being looks, speed, economy, realiability, comfort, practicality etc... I have asked myself what is most important to me and why?
Personally to me i feel reliability and economy play a big role in the choice i would make. Reliability because i want to have the confidence the car will start when i need it to start! Economy purley because Petrol, servicing, insurance and Road tax costs can have a big effect on your wallet during the lifetime of your car.
Being a keen car enthusiast i have looked at several models from various manufacturers and have shortlisted a few cars and denoted reasons why.
Firstly I personally cannot justify buying a brand new car from a showroom purely because the moment a car isn't brand new anymore, thousands can be wiped off its value. Even 'nearly new' cars can lose thousands over a few years ownership!

In order to combat depreciation I feel its best to buy a used car that has depreciated almost to nothing already! Or...Like I did buy a 'practical classic car' and stick two fingers up to depreciation forever!

1. Honda Civic - Hatch back (fifth gen. 1992-1995)
Looks years ahead of its time. Honda reliability with bomb proof engines and gearbox's. A great car that holds its value.
If lowered and complemented with deep dish alloys and stretched tyres this car looks brilliant! Economy is never a problem due to small engined versions and even V-TEC's have the best of both worlds. Sonmething like the vehicle pictured (owned by brother Kashif) can be had for less than 1000GBP all in (including the supporting mods). Hows that for value?! MashAllah.

2. Volkswagen Polo - (2000-2002)
Great little cars with rock solid reliability and easily accessible parts. 1.0 versions are a tad underpowered but very economical. Recommended to opt for the 1.4 version for the extra power. These cars can easily be modified with the wide range of deep dish wheels and coilovers catered.

Tamiya - Big trucks!

For some reason I have a weakness for these amazing scale R/C trucks! I suppose its primarily to do with the fact that they are articulating...Imagine trying to navigate around the living room with trailer in tow ;) you will need some good driving skills ehhh! When you reach advanced level reversing would be the thing to master.

These trucks are supplied in kit form and will need to be built from scratch, this only adds more fun and excitment, the trucks come with a fully functional 3 speed gearbox too! There are also a range of upgrades available for you to purchase i.e a Multi Function Control Unit which enables you to control headlights indicators and sounds via a 4 channel controller giving your truck a very realisitc experience.

Note: the kits require will require the following components to complete the build and become operational.
Radio: 4-Channel with servo(s)
Battery: 6-cell flat with standard Tamiya connector
Charger: AC/DC timed or peak for 6-cell battery
Paint: Polycarbonate for spare body

I am particularily interested in the Dual rear axle Euro style trucks! One day InshAllah il get one!!

Check out some pictures and prices:

Scania R620 6X4 Highline – dual rear axle! Approx $365

MAN TGX 26.540 6×4 XLX - Approx $320

907000 Carson Flatbed Euro trailer! The longest trailer in the range. Machine out of aluminium. Approx 450 GBP

Check out the pictures below of some amazing builds I have came across:

Cape Town

There is nowhere quite like Cape Town, that rugged beauty... The athmosphere is crisp and sharp like the vivid colours of the ocean against the bareback mountains! The feeling of that crisp, clean Atlantic Ocean breeze. Ironically I feel I am at a home away from home here, I feel away yet close? Strange yes. Thats Cape Town, the city which is located at the most southern part of Africa and in my opinion 'The Crown of Africa!'. It features the Cape Aghalus a lonley and rocky headland in the Western Cape where the 2 sea's (Indian Ocean & Atlantic Ocean) meet but do not mix as mentioned in the Holy Quran...

He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together. Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress
[Quran 55:19-20]

Table Mountain... With its blanket of white whispy clouds draping it, I can only sit and admire from my cosy seat in Ocean Basket ;)

My Olive oil :)

Beard Maintenance (1st Edition)
So you've got the beard...now all you want is tips on how to keep it. I get the feeling that this is the post everyone has been waiting for! Well here it is... For All the proofs see the end of the note.

Washing the beard:
Wudu five times a day, helps keep the beard clean when you run your fingers though the beard in keeping with the Sunnah.

Everyones beard works differently, shampooing the beard I find does not really do me any favours, however it is just another means to keep it clean. Did those in the past use soap to clean the beard? It seems from hadith that only water and oils were used in beard maintenance, so this is what I prefer to use.

Oils:
Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil:
Olive oil is the main component to use when oiling the beard as it comes from a sacred tree, so it should be used. You can buy Olive oil (indeed I mean the same olive oil for cooking) from any normal supermarket or food store, however a tip is to understand that not everything we buy is a product of quality...you have to be careful because the majority of the olive oil in stores is not pure (they do not contain all the nutritional value that olive oil is supposed to have)

In order to find real olive oil, it must meet the following specifications:

(1) Extra virgin olive oil should have a free oleic acid acidity of no more than 1%, whereas ordinary virgin olive oil can have an acidity of up to 3.3% (this is not good).
(2) Extra virgin olive oil is supposed to be cold pressed.
(3) Extra virgin olive oil is supposed to be unfiltered and look cloudy. Most olive oil that you find in the store is factory-produced olive oil that looks clear. If it is clear, then it has been filtered, which further reduces the nutritional quality of the oil. Let me repeat: Real olive oil is not filtered; it looks cloudy.
(4) The oil should be packaged in dark glass bottles to protect it from the damaging effects of light. Avoid buying oil that is stored in plastic containers because the oil can absorb some of the compounds used in the plastic, such as PVC’s (polyvinyl chlorides) which cause cancer.

When you buy your Extra Virgin Olive Oil, it should be stored in a cool cupboard away from sunlight and heat.

Black Seed Oil:
This oil has miraculous properties and has be used by brothers to stimulate beard growth. They massage the beard area with black seed oil ensuring that the oil penetrates to the roots, this stimulates the growth of the beard.

Other oils you can use are Almond oil, Argan oil. Some even use peanut oil and regular vegetable cooking oil. But isnt the best oil one which it's tree is mentioned in the Quran?

Applying Oil to The Beard
So now you know exactly what to buy. Add a moderate amount to a damp and moist beard, probably best after bathing and comb the oil through the beard.

If you think that Olive oil is too strong smelling and you want to add a pleasant smelling fragrance, You can use the olive oil as a base, then add a few drops of fragant oils to the mixture. Then apply to the beard. Here is a list of oils that you can buy which others have used and which work well.

List of Fragrant Oils:
Jojoba Oil
Rosemary Oil
Coconut Oil
Cedarwood Oil
Peppermint Oil

And Many More - Try others and let us know!

Combing The Beard:
Use a wide tooth comb to spare your beard hairs. Hairs will fall out no matter what you do, this is natural, but using a wide toothed comb will evenly distribute the oil in the beard and untangle hairs and removed hairs that have already fallen out and keep the beard clean.

Proofs:

A Muslims natural dispositon (Fitrah) & his perfect state:

'A'isha reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be npon him) said: Ten are the acts according to fitra: clipping the moustache, letting the beard grow, using the tooth-stick, snuffing water in the nose, cutting the nails, washing the finger joints, plucking the hair under the armpits, shaving the pubes and cleaning one's private parts with water. The narrator said: I have forgotten the tenth, but it may have been rinsing the mouth.
Muslim :: Book 2 : Hadith 502
The Book of Purification (Kitab Al-Taharah)

Wudu (Ablution) & the presence of the beard:

Narrated Anas ibn Malik: Whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) performed ablution, he took a handful of water, and, putting it under his chin, made it go through his beard, saying: Thus did my Lord command me.
Dawud :: Book 1 : Hadith 145
Purification (Kitab Al-Taharah)

Narrated Grandfather of Talhah: I entered upon the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) while he was performing ablution, and the water was running down his face and beard to his chest. I saw him rinsing his mouth and snuffing up water separately.
Dawud :: Book 1 : Hadith 139
Purification (Kitab Al-Taharah)

Olive Oil comes from a blessed tree:

"Allah is the light of the galactic heavens and the planet earth. The allegory of His light is that of a concave mirror behind a lamp that is placed inside a glass container. The glass container is like a bright, pearl-like star. The fuel thereof is supplied from a blessed olive tree, that is so vast it encompasses both east and west. Its oil is almost self-radiating; needs no fire to ignite it. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whomever He wills. Allah thus cites the parables for the people. Allah is fully aware of all things." Qur’aan 24: 35

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Eat olive oil and anoint yourselves with it, for it comes from a blessed tree.” (Al-Tirmidhi, no. 4221)

Oiling the beard:

'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that when the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) intended to enter upon the state of Ihram he perfumed himself with the best of perfumes which he could find and after that I saw the glistening of oil on his head and beard.

The Beard...

Why the beard?

"The Prophet mpbuh said 'Beautify your faces with my sunnah, beautify your faces with a beard'
The kafir said: ' O'Muslim do not keep a beard, because you will not look good, you will not look good with a beard...You will become a fanatic, you will become a fundamentalist, you will not get anywhere on the ladder of careers, nobody will give you a job" - Sheikh Ahmed Ali

The truth is if we love someone we would want to be like that person...If i claim to love my prophet mpbuh then i should embrace his ways and want to be like him.

The first flight....

Allahu Akbar!

If your not living on the edge, your taking up to much space...!

So its kinda sureal, that alone feeling... Just me and the Kiraman Katibin on my shoulders taking this flight into the unknown. I always dreamed of being an Eagle, to soar above those blanket clouds and snow capped mountains. Ahhh 4 seconds and the Eagle has landed... However I feel elevated spiritually I feel like an Eagle! I soar uninhibited in this Duniya 5 times a day SubhanAllah there is nothing like it, do you feel me?

The time is right....

Yes, the time is right...I have embraced the sweet deen and its time to start talking about it. I dunaw the point was to make some platform for myself alone, where i can post wat i think, where my thinking isn't biased by fear of the consequences i might face as a result capish? (yes m0wgs...thats REAL Italian) It's sometimes so hard to think what you want to, sometimes it's so hard to visualize things happening, this might be the key, a journal to share with myself, and keep a track of thoughts. I'm here to write and write wat i think, not a single constraint or schedule...

Alhamdulillah! My first post :)

Me and my Camel friend...
